AVSI started working in Ecuador in 2001 in Manabí and in 2004 in Pichincha. AVSI Ecuador leverages its comprehensive knowledge of the country’s needs and its vast network of partners to manage development projects in various sectors, including human rights, economic and social inclusion, urban development, climate change, and migration.

In partnership with the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM), AVSI Foundation, with sub-grantees Cooperazione Internazionale (COOPI), implements the project “INTEGRADOS: Integration of Venezuelan Migrants and Refugees in Ecuador: Ongoing support to provide information on protection services, job opportunities and access to decent living conditions to Venezuelan refugees and migrants.” The project will run for two years, starting in September 2020, in the Ecuadorian states of Pichincha, Manabi, and El Oro.

JULY 2019 - DECEMBER 2020
In partnership with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), AVSI Ecuador implements the project "ACTIVADOS: Promoting Integration of Venezuelan Refugees and Migrants in Host Communities" in Manabí, Ecuador. The project's goal is to foster local integration, peaceful coexistence and to protect Venezuelan refugees and migrants in the cities of Manta and Portoviejo.

fundación sembrar
Fundación Sembrar is a community-based organization which addresses the problem of extreme poverty in the slums of Quito, Ecuador. AVSI-USA has partnered with Sembrar since the beginning of its operations in 2008. Today, Sembrar assists 460 families, working with 800 children
and youth.
